Reject Religiously Slaughtered Meat and Halal Certified Products: A group addressing the many issues surrounding religious slaughter and certifications. The group is proactive in reaching out to media, company CEOs, politicians, and other related Facebook groups and communities. Group members have initiated government petitions. Group members share suggestions of places to get non-religiously slaughtered produce and this information (after review) is fed into the Places food map. The administrators and a team of volunteers actively research and vet member suggestions for the food map. The group has a sizable growing membership (38,000 members, August 2026).
Non halal restaurants in the UK: The original aim of the group was to help people find non-halal restaurants and takeaways because there are so many halal ones. The group now addresses the wider issues of religious slaughter (including halal and kosher), stunning methods, and animal welfare. The group still shares many suggestions of places to get non-religiously slaughtered produce for the Places food map. This is the largest UK Facebook group concerning religious slaughter (126,000 members, August 2026).
